Why the line sits there
Everything in the free column costs nothing to provide and costs you nothing beyond your own server. Anything that calls a service billed per use, such as speech to text or email delivery, would cost real money for every user, so it belongs in a paid tier where the bill matches the use.

Is Dock free?
The software is free to self-host with no per-seat fee. You pay for your own server, and for any third-party service you choose to connect.
What will paid cover?
Features that use metered third-party services, such as AI transcripts and email. They are not for sale yet.
How much does a server cost?
A small cloud server is roughly $20 a month (an estimate). Use the server sizer tool.
