AI meeting notes without sending recordings to another vendor
Recording, transcripts and summaries from your own workspace, and what to check before you turn them on.

The short answer
You can get meeting recordings, a searchable transcript and an AI summary from a self-hosted workspace, without adding a separate note-taker app to every call. Dock records calls, transcribes them, and posts a summary with chapters and to-dos when the meeting ends.
How private this is depends on how you configure it. Transcription may call an external speech service, so read the settings before you promise anyone that audio never leaves your server.
What you get after a call

Host or co-host starts it, with a consent banner for everyone in the call.
Transcript

Summary
An AI summary with chapters and to-dos that can become tasks.
Share links
Send people the minutes page instead of re-explaining.
Before you turn it on

Where Dock fits
Dock is a self-hosted team workspace for small teams. It has channels and DMs with threads and search, video meetings in the same app (with recording, transcripts and AI summaries), real-time docs, tables, calendar, tasks and a drive. An MCP server lets AI agents such as Claude Code read and post in your channels, and there is a Lark history import.
It runs as one Node process with one SQLite file, so backups and moves are copying a file. There is no per-seat licence; your cost is your own server. You run the server yourself, and the integration list is smaller than the big hosted tools. There is also live captioning and translation in 17 languages.
Questions
Does Dock record every meeting?
Recording is controlled by the host in most cases. Check workspace settings for automatic recording and transcription defaults.
Are summaries accurate?
They are a draft. Skim them before relying on action items.
Can guests see the minutes?
Only if you share the link.
