How to connect GitHub to your team chat, read-only
Pin repositories to a chat, tag them with @github_ and ask the AI about what your team shipped.

The short answer
In Dock you link GitHub with a read-only token, pin up to five repositories to a chat, and tag a repo or project with @github_. Dock can show what your team ships and brief you on followed repositories. It can never push, merge or change anything on GitHub.
Set it up
Create a read-only token
Use a fine-grained or organisation token with read access only.
Add it in Dock
Add the connection and pick who can use it: personal, selected teammates, or company-wide.
Pin repositories
Pin the right repos to each chat.
Ask
"What changed in the billing repo this week?"
Why teams use it
Context in the thread
Discussions point to the code they are about.
AI that knows your repos
Pinned repos feed the agent's context.
Safe by design
Read-only; per-viewer access so people only see what they may.
Where Dock fits
Dock is a self-hosted team workspace for small teams. It has channels and DMs with threads and search, video meetings in the same app (with recording, transcripts and AI summaries), real-time docs, tables, calendar, tasks and a drive. An MCP server lets AI agents such as Claude Code read and post in your channels, and there is a Lark history import.
It runs as one Node process with one SQLite file, so backups and moves are copying a file. There is no per-seat licence; your cost is your own server. You run the server yourself, and the integration list is smaller than the big hosted tools.
Questions
Can Dock write to GitHub?

Can teammates use my token?
You can let selected teammates use a connection without giving them the token.
How many repos per chat?
Up to five pinned repositories.
